Overview about Mardi Himal Trek
Traversing through picturesque terrains, the Mardi Himal Trek is a 5-day odyssey that encapsulates the true essence of the Himalayas. Commencing from Kande, your adventure leads you through enchanting rhododendron forests and charming villages to the Australian Camp, your first overnight stop. The trail then ascends through lush vegetation to reach the Forest Camp. As you progress, the journey unfolds higher altitudes, leading to the mesmerizing High Camp. Here, the panoramas of Annapurna, Machapuchare, and Hiunchuli peaks are simply spellbinding. The climax of your expedition is Mardi Himal Base Camp, an ethereal realm surrounded by towering peaks. Descend to Low Camp, replete with awe-inspiring views, before concluding your trek at the rustic Siding Village. The journey back to Pokhara is a fitting closure to this magnificent trek.
Itinerary
Day 0: Airport/Tourist bus park
Airport/Tourist bus park picks up on arrival and transfers to the hotel, short arrival info and trip plan at the office.
Day 1: Pokhara to Forest camp (2,520m) via Australian Camp(2,100m)7 hrs, including lunch break.
After breakfast from the hotel, we start our journey at 8 am to Kande (1,770m) by Jeep 45 minute drive. And ascend hike up to Australian Camp, where we encounter our first fantastic view of Annapurna South(7,219m) and Hiun Chuli(6,434m), Fishtail peak(6,997m), Annapurna II(7,937m), Annapurna III(7,555m), Annapurna IV(7,525m) and Manasulu range. Aftera a short downhill walk we arrive Pothana(1,950m). Continue upwards though pastures and forest we reach Deurali(2,100m). We have first view of Mt Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest peak in the world. We ascends the trail through the dense with giant rhododendron, oak and maple to Forest Camp. Overnight at the local teahouse.
Day 2: Forest Camp to High Camp(3,650m) via Low camp(2,900m), Badal Danda(3,250m) 6 hrs, including lunch break.
After breakfast we head through the rhododendron forest, the trail is a gradual ascent to Low camp and Badal Danda, where offers a view of Fistail peak and Mardi Himal. A Short steep climb leads us out of the forest on to open grassy ridge. We encounter the best view of Annapurna south, Hiun Chuli, Machhapuchhre and beautiful landscape. Sometimes the path drops and at these time we will see the different kind of higher altitude rhododendron bushes. As we climbing with our pace the mountain gets much closer. The trail heads last part of the ridge offers an easy walk to High Camp. Overnight at local teahouse.
Day 3: Trek to Upper View point(4,000m) and Mardi Himal Base Camp(4,500m) Then trek to Low Camp(2,900m)
This place offers you the spectacular view of high mountains, and is one of the world’s best point. We start to climb early in the morning through the ridgeline and sometime gradual ascents, as we head closer to the Upper view point, the climb gets challenging but the rewards make it all worthwhile. Enjoy the best of best view of Machhapuchhre(6,997m), Mardi Himal(5,578m)Annapurna South(7,219m), Hiun Chuli(6,434m), Ganggapurna, Glacier Dome(7,069m), Gandharwa Chuli(6,248m), Annapurna III(7,555m). We continue the ascents trail to visit Mardi himal base camp, still we have good views along the way. After exploring the place we head downhill to High camp, lunch break, and then retrace our steps of mild and steep descents to Low Camp. Overnight at the local teahouse.
Day 4: Low Camp to Lwang Village(1,450m) 6 and half hrs, including lunch break.
The trail heads towards the Mardi valley, descending we retrace our steps through the beautiful dense forests to Kalimati village(1620m). Along the trail we cross the pastures and rice paddy field, then we arrive Kalimati. After exploring the Mardi valley we continue to Lwang village gradually through the beautiful Ghalel village(1,580m). As we we continue the winding trail we pass through the farmlands and famous tea plantations of Lwang before reaching the village. It is the place where we will stay overnight at local home. It is one of the oldest Gurung village in Nepal. We’ll have clear and fantastic views of the valley of Kahun Danda and Dhampus, and the snow capped mountains of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna range.
Day 5: Lwang to Pokhara(820m) 4 hrs.
Wakeup with the sunrise and excursion to a tea plantation to see how tea is produced, it takes around 30 minutes uphill to reach. After observation we back to the village, then we head downhill through the village tea factory, which we can visit. We continue the downhill stone stairway that leads on to the established path(Khora muk). From here by jeep/Car to Pokhara, 1 and half hrs drive. Lunch will be taken in Pokhara at Thakhali restaurant, after lunch we drop off you at your hotel.
